This Chateau which produces three wines and its 25 acres vineyard were purchased by Jean Halley in 2000. Since then he has completely renovated and modernized the facilities installing a state-of-the-art gravity-feed system complete with sunken tanks a rotating walkway and double vibrating sorting tables for performing a meticulous triage of the harvested fruit. Enologist Denis Dubourdieu consults. With the improvements and change in winemaking style the wine has become a cult favorite. It is now in fact so popular that Mons. Halley recently decided to increase production of La Dauphine by cancelling production of one of his other wines even though the other wine had a more prestigious appellation. Here's what Robert Parker said about the 2003: 'Yields in 2003 were 28 hectoliters per hectare and the final blend includes 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. This hedonistic sleeper of the vintage offers copious quantities of blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with earth and mineral-like notes. Dense fleshy powerful and rich with low acidity it can be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.'
